If you had been longing for that appropriate Google Maps application in your mobile, here is Google Street View for your Nokia S60. For Nokia, it is a new one of its kind from Google. It has already been released on Google Maps for Blackberry, Apple iPhone and Android smartphones.

This newly released version v2.3 comes with extended features:

• Walking directions and full screen panorama images of the street.
• Transit alerts from participating public transportation authorities
• Ability to read reviews of a specific location directly on your phone.

Google Street View is a downloadable app that will pinpoint your location via GPS and allow you to get walking or driving directions from your phone, as well as view 360-degree Street View photographs. So, this is how it is gonna be handy for you…

Say you’re going to meet with friends at an unfamiliar restaurant. Now you can search for it in Google Maps for mobile, click on “Street View”, and see what the place and surrounding area look like. Similarly, say you need to get to a shop in a part of town you don’t know. Find it using your phone, get directions to it, and see how to get there with full-screen panorama images of every step along the way.

Unfortunately Indian S60 phone users have to wait bit more to use the service as Street View is not available everywhere across the globe.  It is extending its support for this application for various geographies. Stay tuned… to see your favorite landmark in your palm sooner!
