BSNL 3G services in Guntur Telecom District

The much awaited wait for launch of Third Generation Services (3G) of Bharat Sanchar Nigam 
Limited in Guntur, Prakasam , Vizianagaram and Vijayawada is over and Guntur is second to get the 3G service in the State after Hyderabad. Bsnl proposes to garner 50,000 3G connections by March 31 in A.P.
To improve the infrastructure BSNL has invested Rs 150 crores in 29 cities and plans to install more towers to improve connectivity on highways. Guntur Telecom district, had 26 towers functional in the city, while 10 more will be added by the month end.
Another 14 towers will be installed by April end at a cost of Rs 5 crores to improve connectivity in National Highways, Guntur-Vijayawada and Gundur-Baptla Rail lines around the city. During the launch a variety of 3G handsets and tariff pamphlets were distributed along with that demonstration of data card was also took place.
BSNL Data Cards are available in several variants beginning with Rs.249 to Rs.2, 999 where the download speeds reach up to 14 MBPS beginning at 3.6 mbps. postpaid subscribers will be charged Rs 25 more than their existing plan tariff.
3G features:
The existing features available on 3G services were video calling, authentic music downloads, faster Internet broadband connectivity, mobile TV, online gaming, movie downloads. They could be applied for M-Commerce, e-education, e-governance, tele-medicine and location-based services. Subscribers can choose to watch a match from any of the 36 cameras of their choice by frequently changing them.
Existing postpaid users can send an SMS ‘M3G25′ to 53733 to migrate to 3G services and recharge with FRC 120 or STV 98 where as existing prepaid users can send SMS ‘M3G120′ to 53733.
