Airtel Kolkata users to pay 50p/3 min on calling customer care

As mentioned already that the free calls to help lines will be ditched soon today Airtel initiated this charging
concept by issuing a notice to all subscribers in Kolkata and West Bengal telecom circle.
With a notion to improve the margins the Indian mobile operators approached the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) approving its nod to levy a charge for making calls to the helpline is turned as a great success for them.
And from now Airtel Kolkata users calling 198 to lodge complaints will be charged and on calling 121 to connect customer care executive will also be charged 50 paisa/3minutes.But dialing *121# to know offer of the Day, Balance & Validity and VAS activation are available at free of cost.
Several countries allow telecom companies to charge users for contacting the call centre and the move behind Indian telecom companies is to reduce frivolous calls to the centers and help improve margins.

very good plan to not receive any complain.
Yea, first of all Airtel is so expensive, most of users wants to go away from Airtel but can’t coz portability of numbers is not yet introduced. Airtel is earning profit in almost evertthing. WTF their are charges for calling customer care if you have any problems!
Nevermind ppz don’t buy AirTel go for other good network providers like Docomo.
I am a airtel prepaid customer. my mobile no is 9831168679 which was having a life time validity. since last one month the sim was not used. today i have done a easy recharge of rs.50/- but the said sim is not working. i approached to customer care on 121 but of no use. as per their advice i again recharge of rs 48/- to get it for life time validity. but still the sim is not working . Again i approached to cc mr dibenduchanda, complain id is 41604341000 dt15/04/10. kindly advice me so as i can reactivate the said sim.
