US-based Palm Inc, a leading high-end mobile handset maker, on September 25th entered an agreement with Bharti Airtel Ltd, to market its Treo 750 smartphone in India. The Windows Mobile-based smartphone will cost Rs.26,990 would allow users to surf web and access and send their emails. The phone also comes bundled with free unlimited data usage for a month and the Palm wireless keyboard with Bluetooth technology. he Treo 750 combines Palm’s one-of-a-kind user experience with a multifeatured mobile phone with email, messaging, web browsing and organization software all in a compact design. Airtel had earlier entered a similar agreement for providing bundled services with BlackBerry and HTC. The smartphone segment in India is poised to grow to $2.7 billion by 2011 with a sales rate of about 9.2 million units, according to the Airtel estimates.
