HTC Tattoo unveiled in India
HTC Tattoo has hit the market massively by its novel android phone and might see a large band of users bared to the Google Android Operating System. HTC Tattoo is also known as HTC Click and its variant was called Tattoo Ink.
This device is accompanied by a special offer for those who live in India. This offer rewards phone users who surf the internet from their mobile device. The said Vodafone users will be rewarded with a new HTC Tattoo and are entitled to a download of up to 20MB of data every month for duration of three months.
Users will also have the luxury of enjoying Vodafone’s high speed 2.75G EDGE networks and it is worthy of note that this offer is only valid till January 31, 2010.

HTC Tattoo is very similar in form factor to the Windows Mobile-based Touch Screen. However, the Tattoo undoubtedly has more style to it. The gun-metal finish and symmetrical layout of the buttons on the front looks chic while the rest of the front is sparkling and simple. The back also has an attractive graduated grey/silver paint finish, and the little Android motif is a nice, fun touch to finish things off.

HTC Tattoo Specifications:
• Processes under Android OS.
• HSDPA and EDGE make this a bang up to date 3G phone.
• Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also present, while GPS and FM complete the wireless technology list.
• A proper headphone socket on the top is present and sound quality from it is good.
• Charging and data transfer are done via HTC’s ExtUSB socket.

• It is compatible with mini-USB connectors and also doubles as a headset adapter.
• Meanwhile a microSD slot can also be found on the left edge, though you do need to take the back off to access it.
• Overall dimensions are 105 x 55 x 13mm and its screen size is 2.8inches.
• Provides a choice of three keyboard types with QWERTY, compact QWERTY (two letters per key), and numpad on offer.
• Keyboard tweaks include a redesigned desktop layout that uses seven desktops arranged horizontally.
• Standby Time – 10 days.
• Talk time – 2 hours according to this placard but 6.5 hours according to HTC , but this can be a deal-breaker.
The Tattoo is expected to have a price of Rs.16-20000 in India depending on where you are located. The handset will be free with a contract in UK and Europe.

Drawbacks:
• Relatively small size and low resolution of just 320 x 240.
• The new Facebook contacts integration, unified inbox, car-friendly interface, or the rest of the new features were not there.
• Any video which is lengthy cannot be watched comfortably.
• Screen is a particularly soft plastic so will scratch easily.
The Tattoo’s rival is T-mobile Pulse, it has bigger and better screen and costs cheaper. However, it doesn’t have the overall build quality and style of the Tattoo, is larger, and has an odd headphone configuration. Choosing between the two is tricky.

Verdict:
The HTC Tattoo is a very nice, small, stylish, and low cost Android smartphone. However, it certainly has its limitations like its small screen. It’s definitely worth considering though.
