Nokia Ditched Its N-Game
Nokia, the progressive technology monarch bid adieu to its pet project N-game. It’s all going down in September 2010 but the publishing of new games has stopped. N-Gage was a mobile gaming platform launched by Nokia in April 2008 with about 30 games available for download direct to certain Nokia handsets.
The website of N-Gage along with the N-Gage Arena community will be left running throughout the whole 2010. But no new games will be introduced, but older versions will remain until the end of September 2010.
N-gage community will stops breathing by this year, though it had struggled a lot to capture ithe market at earlier times. But in the future all games available to Nokia handset owners will be shifted to its apps store, Ovi Store.
The mourning fact is that the N-gage platform delivered some of the best mobile games we’ve seen for Symbian smartphones and we’re quite stunned that Nokia is trenching all the development losing a strong differentiating factor.
Recently, Nokia has taken a financial hit after sales dropped by one fifth in the last quarter.
