First look: Samsung TouchWiz F480

Samsung Telecommunications India (STI) has launched its full touch screen phone, Samsung Touchwiz F480, as an answer to soon to be launched iPhone in the Indian market. Intersting Samsung F480 comes with the ‘copy and paste’ functionality which iPhone lacks. The handset also has completely new user interface with “drag and drop technology” by which the users can select widgets from the left panel of the screen and drop anywhere on the home screen. The phone also comes up with pretty cool widgets such as Music Player, clock, alarms, calendar and FM plus much more.
Samsung TouchWiz F480′s is a 3.5G supported phone with a 2.8″ 320 x 240 pixel touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash plus a secondary video calling camera. The F480 has an FM radio, a comprehensive multimedia player and USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 2.0. The phone also features ‘Auto Smile Shot’, an interesting technology debuting worldwide , that enables the camera to detect when a person is smiling and automatically take a picture when in the ‘Smile shot’ mode.
The Samsung TouchWiz F480 is equipped with 240MB of internal memory and can be expanded up to 8GB. It is compatible with GPRS, EDGE, 3G, HSDPA (7.2mbps) networks and functions on GSM 900/1800/1900, and WCDMA 2100 bands. However on a downside, it doesnt support Wifi and GPS features.
