Rs 5000 crore for WiMax – BSNL
With the guranteed specturm for its WiMAX operations, BSNL has rolled out its plan to invest Rs 5000 crore on WiMAX operations. According to the companies plan, the WiMAX will be intially rolled out in Maharastra, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh and in particular urban areas of this states.
An attractive feature in their plans is the annncement to set-up 50,000 IT-enabled kiosks called ‘Common Service Centres’ running on Wimax across the country. Year end is the time frame for the above said deployments, which will eventually be based on the Spectrum allocation to private players by DoT.
