When the Titans join together – Nokia and Vodafone’s gesture
Nokia and Vodafone do not spare any chance to slip their hold in the Indian mobile market and now it’s the time for them to offer speedy internet browsing from the mobile handsets. Starting from the latest N97 device, the customers are at their liberty to download lot of information while on the move. The round-the-clock service of this internet browsing comes to the users of N97 with a free data plan for three months.
The speed of the internet is 2.75G with EDGE networks, aided by A-GPS sensors and an electronic compass. The applications available are – update of profiles, sharing social location, images and videos. The handset is loaded with Ovi store offering a great deal of applications, games, videos and podcats and productive and productivity tools. Facebook, Paramount Pictures and Twitter applications form the content developers and providers. Under the aegis of Forum Nokia the handset users in India are eligible for 50 free to download items. The company said that the handset N97 enables greater internet connectivity and special data plans.
To meet the needs of a comprehensive usage, N97 has a tilting, large touch 3.5” 16.9 widescreen display, QWERTY keyboard, 10 international and 5 local widgets. Email, shopping, news from NDTV and Reuters, streaming Flash videos and games are also there. Storage capacity of 48GB memory and an expandable memory of 32 GB, 16 GB micro SD card for music and more from the Nokia Music store with a playback of 1.5 days. For update of movies, dinning and et al there is Groove; the lens has the Carl Zeiss optics, 16:5, 5 megapixel camera, DVD quality video and there are HSDPA and WLAN. Vodafone will take care the service, probably from the next week, and the users can avail from Nokia outlets in major cities of India.
