BSNL IPTV in Andhra Pradhesh

BSNL Andhra Pradhesh would launch triple-play(IPTV) services in Hyderabad to provide cable television, Internet and telephone through the regular telephone wire by September. BSNL calls this service as triple – play. The pricing and the television channel offerings in the triple-play would be announced soon. Initially, BSNL’s triple play would comprise 50 television channels. While state owned service providers such as BSNL and MTNL have started launching these services. MTNL for instance offers almost 100 TV channels on its IPTV platform in Delhi and Mumbai. Other service providers such as Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel and HFCL Infotel are also slated to launch IPTV services soon. Bharti has partnered with Cisco for IPTV services, which will be launched by December 2007. In Asia, IPTV is presently available in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, and is expected to be launched on a mass scale in India and the Philippines in 2007.
