The Gandhian state of India Gujarat has got the nod for the wireless broadband by BSNL. The operation will be in a technical assistance from SOMA Networks, a US-based provider of WiMAX solutions. This is in tune with the expansion scheme of broadband services across the country and the expectations are about 20 million connections by 2010.
The first beneficiary from this service is the Gujarat Industrial Development Corp, which will employ the service for industrial and administrative activities. The GM of theGujarat BSNL is all proud to announce that the first Wireless broadband service has kicked off from Gujarat. Other states in the list are Maharastra, Goa and AP.
