India showing positive growth in High speed internet connectivity
We all know about the traffic hiccup on the roads and the national highways. The same spirit is found in the high-speed netway across India, with a 23% increase in the internet connections made till October. The happy note to crave is that most of the customers have switched over to high speed options leaving away the conventional and outdated slower ones. This move has made the net way to enter the global being and the companies involved in component designing and gaming are flying agog. The e-commerce is also pricking up.
The research results show that India has been witnessing the growth of internet connections; by the end of October 2008, there were 2.6 million new IP addresses found the book, to enter into the global network, thereby increasing from 21. Million till June. The overall growth has come to 23%. India is ranked eighth in the internet using with 41 million users (4% of the country’s population) and the user rate has been increasing for every quarter. With this growth, there has been a simultaneous increase to the high speed connectivity. Nearly 74% of the Indian internet are equipped with 256kbps. The growth is there for the connections with 2mbps from 4.6 % of the already functioning internet has increased to 5% till October. However, China reveals less percentage 4.3% of the same category.
The trend shows the prospective growth for both internet and e-commerce, by way of high-speed networking. The factors that govern the increase of this high-speed network are developments in submarine, fiber optic networks for telephones by which link can be made with the rest of the world. By creating a consortium of 16 telephone companies have planned to install a 15,000 km submarine cable aided with 3.84 tbps. The government agency, BSNL is proposing to offer high speed internet for the rural pockets of 25000 by the end of this financial year. The MD of Akamai Technolgies, the journal for internet report, disclosed that the growth of 23% in new Internet Protocols is the result of more people accessing to the global happenings and the per capita is 2.3 per 1000, which makes India to rank 153rd . The US has a unique IPs of 360 /1000 and is ranked 6th and China has 30 unique IPs per 1000 and is ranked 94th.
Verisign, the manager of .com, .net. and .tv domain names released the result that there is a 26% increase in domain registrations in the first quarter of 2008 and an increase of 46% is also on the cards. The official figure during the end of the first quarter of 2008 was 1.2 million domain name registration in India, which indicates a 46% increase over the previous year and 12% growth over the previous quarter. The report further splits the figure – 6.85 lakh come under .com and .net domain while 4.10 are in domain name registrations.
