Hassled on typing messages with small keypads, here comes a new remedy for frequent message typing fingers. BlackBerry one of the world’s costly mobile producers has introduced Awethumb, two tiny plastic made that fits in your thumb. These plastic thumbs make typing easier and prevent repetitive stress syndrome from constant tapping on tiny phone keypads. Awethumb was really designed as a stabilizer for pinch gripping with a finger.

The rubber pad at the tip of the finger “cushions” the thumb or index fingers, says its website, protecting from what has come to be known as the ‘BlackBerry Thumb.’ These two tiny pieces of plastic fit over your fully opposable digits and promise to “reduce stress on fingers and hands” and “increase accuracy and speed”.  A normal computer keyboard spreads out the work of typing among eight fingers, with the thumbs used to press the space bar. Using the BlackBerry keyboard, the thumb is usually the only digit used to push the tiny keys and the PDA’s design only allows a limited range of movement for the thumb.

Learning how to use the BlackBerry thumb properly and ergonomically, may increase the usability speed and accuracy. One Awethumb set costs $8 plus shipping and handling.  These plastic thumb guards are ostensibly designed to make typing easier and prevent.  But one look at these plastic finger guards and you know they aren’t going to help with anything. One Awethumb set costs $8 plus shipping and handling.
